21. CRUEL CRAZY BEAUTIFUL WORLD - JOHNNY CLEGG & SAVUKA Take a few strips of colourful material, lay them down on a pebble beach, allowing the colours to contrast with the beach. Stick a symbol of innocence on Johnny's shoulders, that ought to do the trick.
	22. SERIAL BOYFRIEND - FRANK OPPERMAN & PRIME TIME ADDICTION Not exactly an attractive mug to have thrust at you from a CD cover, but the wry smile, the glint in the eye (a hint of madness perhaps?) and the three day growth make a compelling cover. The bar code (mark of the beast?) does it for me.
	23. NIEMANDSLAND - KOOS KOMBUIS The silhouette of an ordinary South African suburban street is in stark contrast to the colourful roadsign telling you where you are - No Mans Land. An allusion to war in the trenches, or a political statement? The bright yellow and red complete the image.
	24. THE MOUNTAIN - ABDULLAH IBRAHIM & EKAYA The colourful African artwork is entitled 'Herdboy in Lesotho' and is by Tony Hudson. However, look at the mountain in the foreground. I think you know which mountain Tony had in mind. The rich tapestry affect is great.
	25. BLACK POEM JUGGLERS - THE ASYLUM KIDS There's a violence about this John Hodgekiss image, a dead bird on a parched ground being grabbed at by a shadow. It is in keeping with the anger of the Asylum Kids music.
	26. TORN AND TATTERED - HENRY ATE Karma-Ann has been described by some as the Sinead o' Connor of SA Rock. Instead of tearing up a picture of the Pope she decided to be less contraversial with this act of self mutilation.
	27. THE WARRIOR - IPI 'N TOMBIA (FEATURING MARGARET SINGANA) The focal point of this cover is the warrior beating the drum, but your eyes immediately follow his gaze to the small band of warriors on the rock to the right. The action and rhythm of the music on this album is summed up in this dramatic photograph. It's also not as threatening as the back cover.
COMMENT	28. FOLK ON TREK - DES LINDBERG & DAWN SILVER Looking as innocent as Sunday School teachers, this sepia photograph of Des & Dawn belies the dirty smut that appears on this record. They sing about "The Pill" and rabbits multiplying and I'm sure "3 Little Pigs" is about threesomes in bed. Skande!!
	29. VIA AFRIKA - VIA AFRIKA A very colonial feel to this cover. The shields, the rifles, the old style map of Africa and pictures of the band in old fashioned Safari outfits make for an eccentric cover by an eccentric but brilliant band. The colours of the old South African flag are also not lost on the casual observer.
	30. AG PLEEZ DEDDY - JEREMY TAYLOR It's a fairly straighforward cover, but what I like about it is the fact that Jeremy is sitting on a keg of dynamite with the fuse lit. As so many of his songs were banned by the SABC (the South Africa Broadcorping Castration) it seems delightfully apt.
